POSITION SUMMARY

 

Barton Malow is seeking a Furniture Planner to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI. This role is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, designing, and planning the preparation of construction documentation to support the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of Stellantis facilities, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. The position includes specifying furniture, materials, and finishes, and ensuring these elements are effectively integrated and detailed within interior spaces.

 


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Collaborate with project managers on customer projects related to interior office spaces at the Auburn Hills Complex and off-site locations across North America and Canada.
  • Interface with facility managers, general contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure effective planning, scheduling, and follow-up on customer requirements.
  • Develop drawings for proposed office furniture layouts, carpet plans, and related elements; coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing and specifications.
  • Partner with customers to define project scope and develop overall budget estimates.
  • Apply standardized procedures and adhere to Corporate Standards throughout project execution.
  • Create detailed work orders, including material planning, scope of work descriptions, and drawings for implementation by trades and contractors.
  • Prepare comprehensive job packets outlining requirements for assigned trades.
  • Coordinate across multiple disciplines and sequence job packets based on project needs.
  • Review completed work and develop punch lists to address outstanding items.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or a related industry.
  • Background in Interior Design, Architecture, or Engineering with a strong understanding of building design, components, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to apply established procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to express ideas through sketches, written documentation, and verbal interaction.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects of varying sizes in a fast-paced setting.
