POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a results-oriented Business Development Manager to build and sustain long-term client relationships by understanding their operational challenges and offering tailored solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage strong market knowledge to identify client needs and present innovative ideas and services as solutions to improve existing relationships and drive growth. This role demands a strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset who can identify opportunities through thorough research and provide value-added insights to clients.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth. Leads business development initiatives and manages high-level client relationships. This role involves overseeing the development of strategic partnerships and collaborating with leadership to align business development goals with company objectives and strategic goals. This role involves coordinating and attending industry events, overseeing marketing research, and building client relationships.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to stimulate business growth.
- Proactively research and analyze market data and evaluate emerging market opportunities.
- Cultivate and sustain strong client relationships.
- Conduct comprehensive client needs assessments and analysis to deeply understand their challenges, enabling the development and presentation of targeted, value-driven proposals.
- Establish, manage, and optimize strategic partnerships both within and beyond the organization.
- Track, analyze, and present business development performance metrics.
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure alignment of business development initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Direct critical business development projects and oversee key client engagements.
- Assess industry developments and monitor competitor activities.
- Design and implement long-term business development plans.
- Organize participation in, and representation at, conferences and industry events.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business administration, business management, marketing, communications, construction, or a related discipline or equivalent.
- 5-8 years experience in a related role, with proven sales, marketing and business development experience in the construction industry.
- Understands development, design, and construction terminology, delivery methods, contract types, insurance, legal issues, financing strategies, and risk analysis.
- Strong business acumen is essential, including an awareness of industry practices and current developments such as construction processes, delivery models, and contract types.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by providing tailored solutions and proactive support
- A comprehensive understanding of construction and design systems, building types, and associated costs is required.
- Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and diplomatically.
- A strategic and analytical mindset to understand customer requirements and align company offerings accordingly
- Ability to travel to meet clients and attend industry events is required.
