Position: General Trades Superintendent

Barton Malow Builders is currently seeking to fill a General Trades Superintendent position.  This individual will need to have construction experience with the capability of executing and directly managing carpenters and laborers engaged in general construction activities. The General Trades Superintendent is responsible for construction operations including metal framing, drywall, carpentry, ceilings, and specialties for assigned projects and is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the field team for the successful completion of assigned project(s).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Managing safety program for assigned projects.  Coordinate with Safety Managers as needed
• Coordinate and sequence work in a manner that maximizes productivity
• Order or assist in ordering project materials and equipment that maximizes efficiency and maintains the project schedule
• Coordinate and direct tradesperson as required to complete the drywall scope of work.  Review project schedule and adjust tradespersons as required to maintain project schedule and maximize productivity
• Manage tradesperson productivity, managing labor productivities and hours established in the estimate
• Coordinate and communicate with General Trades Managers and clients
• Manage project reporting requirements as required per the client requirements
• Identify and track extra work. Submit time and material tickets to the client on a timely basis.
• Assist the General Trades Manager with Productivity Tracking
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other contractors
• Skilled in the use of standard tools and equipment for the trades

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in interiors construction.
• Knowledge of interior systems including CFMF, interior framing, drywall, carpentry, acoustical ceilings and specialty ceilings.
