Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent will play a key supporting role on a large, high‑profile sports stadium project in Jacksonville, helping the field leadership team manage day‑to‑day construction activities and keep work progressing safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans. This position is hands‑on and fast paced, offering early‑career field professionals the opportunity to build foundational superintendent skills while contributing to one of the region’s most exciting construction efforts.
Working closely with Superintendents and project teams, the Assistant Superintendent will assist with daily field operations, subcontractor coordination, safety enforcement, and quality oversight. The role also supports site logistics, schedule alignment, and communication between field crews and project leadership. Key Responsibilities
Field Operations Support
- Assist with opening the jobsite and aligning subcontractor workforce activities with the daily schedule
- Support the supervision and coordination of subcontractors and on‑site field labor
- Help ensure the jobsite is secured at the end of each workday
- Participate in contractor coordination and planning meetings
Safety & Quality
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures in the field
- Support pre‑task planning and job hazard awareness efforts
- Assist with inspections to ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and quality standards
Project Coordination
- Assist with implementing site logistics plans
- Help maintain daily progress alignment with the project schedule
- Support communication between field crews, subcontractors, and project leadership
Qualifications
Required
- Experience working in construction field operations or a related trade environment
- Basic knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in active construction environments
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow into increasing levels of responsibility
Preferred
- Coursework or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Internship or previous experience on commercial or industrial construction projects
- Familiarity with safety standards and jobsite procedures
Work Environment & Travel
- Work is primarily jobsite‑based and may include exposure to outdoor conditions and active construction areas
- Travel for project assignments may be required based on business needs
