POSITION SUMMARY

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a Project Engineer with a focus on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems to join our team in Midland, MI. This role will provide essential technical support and ensure the smooth progression of our projects, particularly in the MEP disciplines. The Ideal candidate will have a background in engineering or construction management, with a keen eye for detail and proactive approach to problem-solving.

 


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for resolution and tracking of project issues
  • Manage all project document control
  • Process submittals and RFI’s
  • Support Procurement in the distribution of bidding documents and tracking of bidders
  • Maintain project schedule
  • Prepare and issue meeting minutes
  • Assist with planning and managing site logistics
  • Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite
  • Receive and review/evaluate contractor quotations for changes and process change orders
  • Manage plan review and approval process with local and state municipalities


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 4-year engineering, construction management or related degree 
  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience 
  • 2+ years MEP experience
  • OSHA 30 Hour preferred
  • Keen organizational skills applied to document control and close out
  • Proactive positive attitude with commitment to safety
