The Project Executive is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, direction, completion, and financial outcome of assigned project(s). They drive the pursuit and execution of multiple projects by partnering with internal resources including Business Development, Marketing, PreConstruction and Project Delivery.  The project executive develops new business opportunities for the business unit, sales leads and close sales to secure profitable work and enhances the competitive posture of the group and Barton Malow.  

 

Key Respoonbilities: 


•    Acts as the project ambassador in representing the project team and acting as the primary high level contact for the client.    
•    Directs and controls construction related aspects on all projects of the organization to ensure their completion according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets and contractual commitments.  
•    Partners with Work Acquisition, Business Development and Vice President in client pursuit and retention strategy; leads specific project pursuits.  
•    Actively recruits, develops, and retains team members.
•    Monitoring/controlling construction projects through administrative direction of on-site Project Manager(s) to ensure project is built safely, on schedule and within budget.  
•    Initiate and maintain relationships with prime owner contacts and architects to facilitate existing and potential construction activities.  Initiate customer expectation process with prime owner.
•    Foster Barton Malow’s safety culture within areas of responsibility by partnering with Regional Safety Leadership and project personnel.
•    Partner with Business Development to conduct market research for assigned markets, draft annual sales plans, and develop strategies to implement action plans.
•    Establish a client and peer professional network, and develop written Capture Plans for targeted projects and manage plan implementation.
•    Create written proposal strategy and guide the proposal process for sales prospects ensuring corporate marketing requirements are met.
•    Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
•    Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, etc.) to protect Barton Malow’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship’s with owner.

 

Required Skills:

 

•    Minimum of 15 years of experience/knowledge of construction, design, estimating, safety, business development, finance and project management in the power and energy markets.
•    Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities are essential.  
•    Understands how financials impact business decisions; has a financial growth mindset
•    Leverages business knowledge to increase profitability and effectiveness of the company
•    Must be able to effectively lead, manage and motivate employees.
•    Must demonstrate an ability to successfully manage multiple mid-to-large size projects.
•    Technical degree in Engineering/Construction or equivalent experience required.
•    MBA and/or PE preferred.
