Position Summary
Barton Malow Company is hiring a Self-Perform Project Manager for work in New Albany, Ohio. You will lead the project from setup through closeout, including the budget, schedule, safety plan, and relationships with the owner, our craft professionals, and subcontractors. You will be accountable for delivering the work safely, on time, and on budget.

What You Will Do
Plan the work
- Set up the project schedule, including activities and logic.
- Develop the site logistics plan with the superintendent.
- Review documents for completeness and buildability through constructability reviews.
- Support the preconstruction group in the estimating process.
- Lead jobsite setup, including trailer mobilization and jobsite staff and processes.
Lead field operations
- Establish and oversee the jobsite safety plan, and set the safety culture.
- Help manage labor relations with field personnel.
- Monitor field operations for compliance with the schedule.
- Manage the owner equipment coordination process.
- Verify that approved products are the ones being installed.
- Keep the punch list process on track.
Manage cost
- Create and manage the general conditions budget, and update projections monthly.
- Track the use of non-reimbursables and work to minimize them.
- Monitor project costs and how well the change management process is working.
- Create cost items, issue them to contractors, and process changes to the owner agreement.
- Meet with the approving authority to obtain signatures on change orders.
- Follow project lien requirements and prepare bonding capacity reports.
- Keep the client informed of budget status.
Lead the team + the relationships
- Facilitate project team meetings.
- Supervise and mentor jobsite staff.
- Make sure RFIs and submittals are processed on time by the engineering staff.
- Put office procedures in place, including filing, correspondence, start-up, closeout, and archiving.
- Manage subcontractor issues and day-to-day owner concerns.
- Oversee closeout of the owner contract and project acceptance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in the construction or architecture industry
- Self-perform or union trades experience preferred
