POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer will support the Florida office and its associated projects. The Quality Engineer position is responsible for assisting in the development of site-specific quality documentation utilizing the BMB Quality Management Standard Practice, Workflow, and Manual as well as supporting overall quality department initiatives. They are also responsible for assisting in the implementation of Barton Malow’s quality management program by managing issues, inspecting work in place, and evaluating trade partner performance to ensure compliance. The role includes training and education of various project team staff to adopt quality protocols, checklists and workflows to ensure a team quality approach. The Quality Engineer 2 will develop an understanding of how current issues relate to the Company’s direction, become aware of related project improvement opportunities and actively work to bridge those gaps.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*:  

• Assists project delivery teams in developing all quality documentation including but not limited to Definable Features of Work (DFW), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Mockup Plans (MP), Issue reports, Inspection Reports, and/or Checklists.
• Assists in maintaining an effective quality management program while learning from project delivery staff and direct supervisor. Supports the project delivery team to meet requirements of the BMB Quality Manual including but not limited to applicable codes, drawings, specifications, standards, procedures, and all other related contract documents. Assists in the development of training materials and teaches onsite team members to follow quality protocols.
• Assists in proper control of all material and equipment received, stored and handled for the project
• Ensures all required testing and inspections are performed and continually improves processes
• Identifies and controls the quality issue reports (QIR) and non-conformance reports (NCR) with support from the project delivery team, including stop work orders, corrective action planning, disposition approval, and inspection verifications
• Assists and learns to collect, organize, manage and maintain project quality documentation including but not limited to testing and inspection logs, issue logs including quality/punchlist items, test reports, receiving inspections, off-site vendor quality inspections, and corrective action for Construction Turnover packages (CTO). This may include working with the project delivery team in order.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quality Management or relevant related field 
• 5+ years experience in GC/CM Construction Management 
• Frequent travel to offices and job sites is required for this position
