POSITION SUMMARY
Barton Malow is seeking a Regional Quality Manager that will be based out of Orlando, Florida. This individual will support the regional Florida office along with it’s associated projects. The Quality Professional is responsible for assisting in development of site-specific quality documentation at multiple project sites utilizing the BMB Quality Management Standard Practice, Workflow, and Manual. They are also responsible for assisting in the implementation of Barton Malow’s quality management program by inspecting work in place and evaluating vendor performance to ensure compliance. The Quality Professional understands how current issues relate to the Company’s direction, is aware of their project improvement opportunities and actively works to bridge those gaps. The role includes training and education of various project team staff to adopt quality protocols and checklists to ensure a team quality approach. Partnership, enablement and empowerment are key requirements of this position.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*:
- Assists/leads project delivery teams in developing all quality documentation including but not limited to Definable Features of Work (DFW), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Mockup Plans (MP), Issue reports, Inspection Reports, and/or Checklists.
- Assists/leads in maintaining an effective quality management program by ensuring the project delivery team meets the requirements of the BMB Quality Manual. This includes but is not limited to applicable codes, drawings, specifications, standards, procedures, and all other related contract documents. Assists in the development of training materials and teaches onsite team members to follow quality protocols.
- Assists/leads in proper control of all material and equipment received, stored and handled for the project
- Ensures all required testing and inspections are performed and continually improves processes
- Identifies and controls the quality issue reports (QIR) and non-conformance reports (NCR), including stop work orders, corrective action planning, disposition approval, and inspection verifications
- Collects, organizes, assembles and maintains project quality documentation including but not limited to testing and inspection logs, test reports, receiving inspections, off-site vendor quality inspections, and corrective action for Construction Turnover packages (CTO). This may include working with the project delivery team in order.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality management or construction project coordination, with a focus on quality control and assurance (preferred).
- Familiarity with Barton Malow Quality Management Standards and related documentation such as Definable Features of Work (DFW), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Mockup Plans (MP).
- Strong working knowledge of construction codes, project specifications, contract documents, and industry standards.
- Proven ability to inspect and evaluate vendor performance to ensure compliance with quality protocols and specifications.
- Experience in developing and conducting quality training for project teams, ensuring adoption of quality protocols and checklists.
- Proficient in using construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation, reporting, and analysis.
- Experience with managing material control, including receipt, storage, and handling of materials and equipment on construction sites.
- Ability to identify, document, and manage non-conformance reports (NCR) and quality issue reports (QIR), including corrective actions and inspection verifications.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, with a focus on partnership, enablement, and empowerment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently, while maintaining high standards of quality.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB CONDITIONS:
- Frequent travel to offices and job sites is required for this position.
