POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Cost Analyst position has an expection of advance experience in Accounting or Finance. The Sr Cost Analyst must be able to support large project teams and Project Controls Leadership by analyzing cost and revenue data, driving project change management and forecasting in order to provide timely & reliable financial information that is meaningful to project management, business units and the organization as a whole.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*:

· Provides analytics of the financial status of large and/or high risk construction projects to measure profitability, manage risk, and facilitate project planning strategy and decision making

· Assists project start up by identifying financial deliverables and assisting development of baseline budget

· Manages the change management and monthly forecasting processes to understand and identify risk and opportunity

· Aids with external customer requirements such as owner reporting, subcontractor challenges, and joint venture reporting.

· Supports business unit and corporate objectives and provide over-site for compliance of Barton Malow policies and procedures (internal audit)

· Has an understanding and awareness of accounts payable and receivable, and ability to balance project financials with accurate accruals and cash management

· Assist Project Financial Controls Leadership with financial review

· Supervises Project Financial Controls team members

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Recommended 10+ years experience in relevant field

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

· In-depth understanding of construction process

· Intermediate skills in MS Office: Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer

· Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

· Capacity to analyze large and disparate amounts of data and efficiently come to a conclusion

· Ability to analyze, identify and resolve issues large business issues

WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB CONDITIONS:

· Travel for project assignments may be required based on Enterprise needs.

This job may be performed in the office or on the jobsite and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists. The person performing this job must be able to navigate the jobsite and is expected to be able to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the jobsite.
