OFCI Project Manager
Hyperscale Data Center | Greater Philadelphia, PA | Mission Critical | Fully On Site
About the Role
On a hyperscale data center, owner-furnished equipment such as generators, switchgear, UPS systems, chillers, and racks can drive the entire schedule. When a delivery slips, the delay reaches commissioning and the owner's go-live date. As OFCI Project Manager, you will lead the program that moves owner-procured equipment from purchase order to installed, tested, and handed off, keeping our team, the owner, and our installing subcontractors aligned at every step.
This is a fully on-site role on a mission critical project near Philadelphia. You will report to [Project Executive / Senior Project Manager] and work closely with our field team, owner representatives, and equipment vendors.
What You'll Do
- Own the OFCI program from procurement tracking through installation handoff, including delivery windows, laydown, staging, rigging, and installation sequencing
- Serve as the primary interface between owner vendors, Barton Malow field teams, and installing subcontractors
- Build and maintain the OFCI tracking log and schedule, tying delivery dates to the critical path and commissioning milestones
- Identify delivery risk early, communicate it clearly to the owner and project leadership, and drive recovery plans before slippage cascades
- Lead receiving, inspection, and damage documentation, including claims coordination with vendors and carriers
- Manage warranty documentation and transfer, and close out OFCI scope with complete records
- Coordinate with project engineers, superintendents, and safety leaders so every lift, move, and installation is planned and carried out safely
- Direct and develop project engineers supporting the OFCI program
What You Bring
- 5+ years of construction project management experience, including managing OFCI equipment on a major project
- Experience on mission critical, data center, or similarly complex projects with large, long-lead equipment
- A working understanding of the logistics chain: procurement tracking, delivery, laydown, staging, rigging, installation, and handoff
- Comfort as the link between owners, vendors, and trade partners, with the confidence to share difficult news early
- Strong organization and follow-through, with proficiency in scheduling and tracking tools [P6, MS Project, Procore, Excel, etc.]
- Experience with receiving procedures, damage documentation, and warranty processes
- A commitment to safety and to Barton Malow's values of Integrity, Partnership, and Empowerment
- [Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience]
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and how equipment readiness drives start-up
- Experience with electrical and mechanical systems typical of hyperscale facilities
- [PMP, OSHA 30, or similar]
