Position Summary
Barton Malow is seeking a Construction Quality Manager to join our Mission Critical team on a hyperscale data center project near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role implements and maintains Barton Malow's quality program, ensuring self-perform, subcontractor, and vendor work meets quality standards across the project. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of construction QA/QC inspection experience on mission critical, industrial, or data center projects, along with familiarity with construction inspection and testing techniques specific to mission critical environments. Travel is expected as part of the role.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective quality control program that meets the requirements of the Barton Malow Quality Manual, applicable codes, drawings, specifications, standards, procedures, and other contract documents.
- Review and approve subcontractor quality programs, inspection and test procedures, and inspection and testing personnel qualification records.
- Ensure all required testing and inspections are performed.
- Establish “Witness” and “Hold” points for inspection as appropriate.
- Identify and control the disposition of nonconformance items, including stop work orders, corrective action planning, disposition approval, and inspection verification.
- Initiate corrective action for deviations in corporate document and process compliance.
- Coordinate qualified testing laboratories and third-party inspection agencies to ensure compliance.
- Submit a monthly quality report identifying measurable quality results.
- Collect, organize, and maintain project quality documentation, including testing and inspection logs, test reports, receiving inspections, off-site vendor quality inspections, corrective actions, and other metrics that support quality management key performance indicators.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on all quality issues.
- Manage the system used to ensure a smooth startup and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and critical infrastructure systems within the data center.
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- 5+ years of construction QA/QC inspection experience on mission critical, hyperscale data center, or industrial projects.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods for assignments within the region.
- Experience with construction inspection and testing techniques, including critical infrastructure systems such as power, cooling, and controls.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
