POSITION SUMMARY

Barton Malow Company is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team on various projects throughout the Midwest. This role involves planning, developing, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring onsite construction activities for projects. The Project Engineer will act as a liaison with architects, engineers, owners, and field crews regarding project progress and changes, ensuring seamless communication and execution.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for development, tracking, and resolution of project issues.
  • Manage project document control procedures.
  • Process submittals and RFI’s.
  • Support procurement in the distribution of bidding documents, tracking of bidders, and bid leveling procedures.
  • Maintain project schedules.
  • Prepare and issue meeting agendas, minutes, and project reports.
  • Assist with planning and managing site logistics.
  • Monitor work and enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite.
  • Initiate, review, and evaluate contractor quotations for changes and process change orders.
  • Review project transmittals for potential impacts to contract scopes
  • Manage plan reviews and permit approval processes with local and state municipalities. Coordinate inspections as needed with authorities having jurisdiction.

 
 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 4-year engineering, construction management or related degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience or related construction internship experience.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate information on/within project drawings and specifications.
  • OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to be self-directed in problem-solving.
  • Proactive attitude with commitment to safety.
