POSITION SUMMARY
The General Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day on-site administrative and construction processes for all field-related activities ensuring contractual completion of the various project discipline-specific superintendents to include MEP scopes, civil, controls, and construction.
- Responsible for overall project safety management and compliance with the applicable Safety and Health Plans which includes reviewing and auditing site specific safety documentation.
- Lead and oversee field leadership meetings including safety, trade coordination and schedule meetings.
- Enforce compliance with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and specific project/client requirements.
- Develop and foster effective client and subcontractor relationships.
- Interface with client representatives, municipal authorities and other contractors on the team as necessary.
- Communicate and interface with internal Barton Malow Design Management team, Preconstruction and external Engineering to resolve field engineering items.
- Collaborate with the project management team to implement Execution Plans, project procedures, documentation and adherence to company standards.
- Responsible for ensuring contractual compliance with contracted and subcontracted parties on site construction related activities.
- Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommendation of best construction methods.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as necessary to document build progress.
- Review internal Superintendent and Subcontractor field reports.
- Partner with Internal Commissioning and oversee and direct the final construction documentation turnover process to clients; this includes turnover to clients or internal startup teams.
- Enforce compliance with project Quality Management processes.
- Partner with Trade Directors on craft supervision and project staffing as necessary.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum of 15 plus years of experience including large-scale Thermal Energy market construction.
- Experience leading multiple successful teams including development of direct reports and maintaining relationships with trade partners, clients and other parties.
- The ability to manage and embrace change. Respond and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems.
- Required Qualifications:
- Understanding of Thermal ground up construction.
- Must have experience managing H-Class or large class thermal turbine builds
- Ability to travel, project assignments will include company financial support.
