POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Manager 2 position requires specialized knowledge of product management practices across multiple enterprise domains. Construction industry experience is required. Strong communication and client service skills are required. Team members will manage and deliver digital solutions across multiple products or a full business domain. They will manage and support project teams through the creation and delivery of prioritized roadmaps for all stakeholders, including partners and customers. This role will likely include direct or rotational reports requiring mentorship and team development. Customers and partners may also function as indirect reports through effort and influence.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
Discovery & Strategic Ownership
Owns discovery across their domain, coaches Product Manager 1s in discovery practices, and is accountable for the quality and consistency of the approach across their product area. Maintains a current, evidence-based understanding of user needs and market context.
Product Development Lifecycle Management
Manages the overall development, testing, and implementation lifecycle of solutions across multiple products or a full domain; provides mentorship to Product Manager 1s. Manages and coordinates project and core service resources. Responsible for tracking KPIs to measure organizational competency and drive user adoption.
Business Outcome Alignment
Connects product outcomes to business outcomes within their domain and communicates the value of product decisions to stakeholders and leadership. Coordinates cross-functional resolution of product issues and bugs post-deployment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
Manages and facilitates cross-functional collaboration with Learning & Development, VDC, and other interconnected departments. Effectively influences engineering, IT, Learning & Development, and customers to align around product strategy and drive adoption. May include identifying opportunities and delivering cross-functional training and support.
Vendor & Partnership Management
Manages vendor relationships to resolve issues and improve software functionality. Responsible for communicating the product roadmap through proper channels and for establishing or maintaining partnerships with vendors and software partners. Assists with contract negotiations, including budgeting, services, and cost.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Manages the development of product documentation, including requirements, standard work, and training materials. Reviews, edits, and provides feedback on documentation drafted by other product team members.
Performance Measurement & KPIs
Manages the development and implementation of measuring outcomes of solutions in pilot and at scale. Develops KPIs and related measurement standards for all stages of the product lifecycle.
AI Tooling & Team Enablement
Leverages AI tools as standard workflow tools and models AI-forward working practices for junior team members.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in product management or a closely related role.
- Construction industry experience required.
- Ability to learn technology while finding new efficiencies and effective solutions.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Effectively communicates with and influences cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, Learning & Development, and customers.
- Interprets customers' (internal and external) needs and helps them succeed, requiring curiosity, flexibility, patience, and empathy.
