The Network Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Network Engineers in designing, developing, configuring, installing, supporting, maintaining, optimizing and troubleshooting the network, server, and cloud infrastructure. As the Network Manager, you may be asked, as new business needs arise, to accept additional tasks and responsibilities within the department, besides those detailed in this job description. This role is a mixture of people management and hands-on technical work. Due to multiple offices and project sites across multiple time zones, multi-site networking experience is required. We are looking for someone who enjoys leading and managing.   

 

Responsibility/Authority:

  • Manage people and assigned projects to deliver services with a focus on building successful relationships around the organization.
  • Provide proactive IT Support and Network monitoring, performance tuning and testing for potential weakness across multiple secure networks.
  • Establish network design and make product recommendations, evaluations, configurations, etc.
  • Support of local and wide-area network hardware, software and applications.
  • Maintain cloud systems, servers, communication links, and video conference equipment while ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Manage and configure the networking device including switches, routers, and firewalls (i.e. Cisco Firewalls/Routing/Switching, Cisco & Meraki Wireless)
  • Manage the network documentation process.
  • Set protocol for change management and make sure network diagrams are maintained.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with vendors as needed.
  • Ensure commitments of the Network Team are met.

 

Education, Work Experience and Specialized Skills/Knowledge:

  • An ideal candidate will have 10 plus years of experience in large complex IT environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant field.
  • At least three years of prior experience managing a team of Network Engineers.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals as they relate to enterprise networks including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, SMB/CIFS and DFS.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted systems such as AWS, Azure, & Microsoft 365 is a necessity.
  • Experience working with Identity Providers (Okta & Entra), SAML, SCIM Provisioning
  • Engineering experience maintaining and deploying small- and large-scale LAN/WAN networks, including wireless networks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory is a necessity.
  • Proficient in Layer 2 switching protocols (STP,HSRP,VLAN, etc).
  • Proficient in Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IGRP).
  • Cisco enterprise experience managing, installing and troubleshooting networks is a necessity. Switch knowledge and ACL management is a plus.
  • Ability to Rack and Stack Network Devices including cable management in a Data Center / Server Room environment.
  • Experience working with standard cabling technologies such as UTP (5e and 6), Fiber Optic (single mode, multi-mode).
  • Proficient in Network Security best practices.
  • Experience in customer service and support is a plus.
