POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Project Manager Office (PMO) Manager oversees the entire project management lifecycle for multiple enterprise initiatives, ranging in complexity. This role ensures adherence to established PMO standard work processes and is instrumental in maintaining and updating these processes. The PMO Manager provides coaching and mentoring on project management best practices, contributes to strategic discussions, and collaborates closely with the Sr PMO Manager to identify, prioritize, and key on key initiatives. Additionally, this role involves active participation in decision-making processes and executive reporting to drive successful project outcomes. This role will be a hybrid position, requiring the candidate to work in the Southfield office 2-3 times a week.

 


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the complete project management lifecycle for multiple enterprise initiatives, ranging in complexity, ensuring adherence to the PMO standard work processes.
  • Regularly monitors project risk factors and implements strategies as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Ensures PMO value streams and standard work processes are continually updated, relevant, and effectively utilized by the PMO and Core Services teams.
  • Provides coaching, consulting, and mentoring on PMO project management processes to both PMO and non-PMO team members, fostering skill development and continuous improvement.
  • Contributes insights and project experience to PMO team strategy discussions, understanding both internal business needs and industry trends. Executes strategic plans and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with the Sr PMO Manager to assess and evaluate enterprise initiatives, providing recommendations for prioritization, and contributing to decision-making and executive reporting as required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field is required.
  • Formal project management training or certification is preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in a project management role(s), preferably within a complex organizational environment.
  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Prior experience with cloud-based project management tools like Monday.com, Wrike, Ansana, Trello, Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project or similar tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. 
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven capability to think strategically while also maintaining a keen attention to detail, ensuring alignment of project activities with broader organizational goals. 
  • Strong aptitude for fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within project teams. Demonstrates leadership skills in guiding and motivating cross-functional teams towards project success.
