POSITION SUMMARY
The Preconstruction Engineer is responsible for assisting in gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in preconstruction pricing efforts in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*:
• Develop and maintain project-related documents (estimates, drawings/models, others) in a consistent, organized structure. The preconstruction engineer will also be responsible for organizing and disseminating front-end/owner requirements applicable to the planning efforts.
• Support the Estimating team with subcontractor outreach, prequalifications, clarifications, and solicitations • Assist in the bid development and solicitation process including but not limited to; the development of bid scopes, calculating material quantity take-offs, RFI management, etc. at the direction of Estimating personnel
• Assisting the Preconstruction Manager in the development of project proposals, basis of design/estimate narratives, and life cycle cost analysis of various building systems.
• Demonstrate excellence in the pursuit of daily tasks and responsibilities while expressing flexibility in the means and methods deployed to help the organization achieve its higher goals
• Perform Detailed quantity takeoffs from project drawings and specifications for various trades.
• Leverage Construction Software (BIM 360, OST, Winest, Join, etc) to optimize daily activities and communication between internal barton malow stakeholders.
• Review, store, and organize design drawings, submittals, bid proposals, and other key documentation for collaboration between all project stakeholders and internal Barton Malow resources.
