The Project Executive provides senior leadership and oversight for major projects, ensuring successful delivery, financial performance, and strong client relationships. This role partners with Business Development, Preconstruction, and Project Delivery to lead pursuits, secure profitable work, and support Barton Malow’s continued growth. The Project Executive oversees multiple project teams, develops staff, and ensures alignment with Barton Malow’s processes, culture, and expectations. 

Key Responsibilities:
Must be willing to travel. 

Client & Stakeholder Leadership 

  • Serve as the senior point of contact, building trusted relationships with owners and design partners. 

  • Set clear expectations, communicate proactively, and ensure overall client satisfaction. 

Project Delivery & Operational Excellence 

  • Provide executive oversight to ensure projects meet safety, schedule, financial, and quality goals. 

  • Guide Project Managers and teams across projects, ensuring effective planning and execution. 

  • Drive consistent adherence to Barton Malow processes, standards, and safety culture. 

People Leadership & Team Development 

  • Mentor and grow team members to support long-term organizational capability. 

  • Promote a collaborative, high-performance culture across all project teams. 

Business Strategy, Pursuits & Financial Stewardship 

  • Lead strategic pursuits, capture plans, and proposal efforts to win new work. 

  • Manage financial performance, project controls, and contract compliance to ensure successful outcomes. 

  • Support broader business strategy and market awareness efforts in partnership with Work Acquisition. 


Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of construction project leadership, including experience with large or complex programs. 

  • Strong financial management and project controls capability. 

  • Proven ability to build client trust, manage JV dynamics, and lead multiple project teams. 

  • Experience mentoring and developing staff. 

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • MBA/PE preferred but not required. 

  • Must be willing to travel.
