POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manger is responsible for client communication and overall project progress reports. Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan. Collaborates with architects, engineers, electricians, and other key project stakeholders where necessary to successfully complete the project. The individual also manages risk, insurances, general work performance and overall team progress against the project plan through consistent communication and collaboration with the owner and proect team members.  

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Facilitates coordination meetings with the project team throughout the construction project from preconstruction, pre-award, regular on-going progress meetings through project close-out
  • Oversees the project procurement process and overall bidding strategy for project, including assisting with development of bidder's list; Develops work scopes and front-end documents for bidding based on project needs and contractual requirements; Organizes and conducts pre-bid meetings; Receives/evaluates bids and assists with conducting post-bid reviews
  • Initiates development of basic project schedule and jobsite, including mobilization of trailer and setup of jobsite staff and processes; Oversees project permit process
  • Creates and manages general conditions budget, receiving assistance for initial assumptions; Sets up a single element cash flow and manpower projection analysis and enters monthly actuals; Regularly monitors, updates and reports project costs internally and to owner, supports jobsite cash management, including monitoring job profitability and timeliness of payment from owner
  • Assists Superintendent and manages basic owner issues/concerns and handles communications with lower levels of owner organization, issues with subcontractors, and relationships and communication with architect/engineers, clients and consultants; Reads and enforces requirements in owner agreement at jobsite
  • Coordinates Company personnel and resources, including supervision of project jobsite staff, and communicates project expectations to field operations team; Monitors field operations for compliance with schedule requirements
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and the Barton Malow project team members.
  • Adminster financial aspects of the owern’s contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:   

 

  • Bachelers degree in construction management or engineering and 3+ years of related experience in Data Center building.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail evidenced by a strong command of applicable contracts and legal provisions.
  • Ability to manage and embrace change.  Respond and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems
  • Must be able to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between project delivery needs and non-critical review of incomplete work assignments while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
  • Strong management skills to effectively manage trade partner performance to BMC high quality standards.
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency and the ability to quickly study and react to complex issues and resolve conflicts effectively in a firm but fair manner
