POSITION SUMMARY
Barton Malow is seeking a Project Manager for mission-critical projects. This role requires an openness to travel and a commitment to working on-site at least five days a week. The Project Manager will maintain client communication and provide comprehensive project progress reports. Responsibilities include developing and adhering to the budget, timeline, and quality control plans while collaborating with architects, engineers, electricians, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project completion. Additionally, the Project Manager will manage risks, insurances, and overall work performance, overseeing team progress against the project plan through consistent communication and collaboration with both the owner and project team members.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates coordination meetings with the project team from preconstruction to project close-out, ensuring effective communication throughout the process.
- Oversee the procurement process and bidding strategy, develop work scopes, organize pre-bid meetings, and evaluate bids after they are submitted.
- Initiates the development of the project schedule and jobsite setup, including mobilization and permit management.
- Manages the general conditions budget, conducts cash flow analysis, and regularly monitors project costs to ensure profitability.
- Assists the Superintendent with owner issues and subcontractor communications, enforcing the requirements outlined in owner agreements.
- Coordinates company personnel and resources, supervises jobsite staff, and monitors compliance with schedule requirements.
- Builds effective working relationships with clients and Barton Malow team members.
- Administers the financial aspects of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, along with relevant data center construction experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail demonstrated by a strong understanding of applicable contracts and legal provisions.
- Ability to manage and embrace change, respond to and adapt to new processes and perspectives on traditional challenges.
- Proven ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities, balancing project delivery needs with the non-critical review of incomplete work assignments while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
- Strong management skills to effectively oversee trade partner performance, ensuring adherence to BMC's high-quality standards.
- A strong sense of urgency with the ability to quickly assess complex issues and resolve conflicts effectively in a firm yet fair manner.
